All the household carpets you see nowadays are stained from last night's wind and Lasagne or simply mud tracks from your boots. Your carpets go through a lot on an everyday basis, more than you can possibly imagine. So much so that when the water damage is ported, they are often rendered useless.

Incidence of flooding from either human-made disasters or unforeseen circumstances can lead to intense damage to your prized possession. As the carpet fibres are incredibly delicate, they are wilted when they observe too much water and could lead to the development of mould spores, mildew, and fungi. So, performing water damage carpet cleaning can be one heck of a job!

But before the professional carpet cleaners arrive, you must perform some of the basic tricks to dry the carpet as much as possible. Here are some of the essential hacks to do it -

Dry the Carpet with High-Velocity Fans

Do not even think of turning on the air conditioner to drive the carpet as it will ...
... do more harm than good. Instead, make sure that the room is adequately lit up and use high-velocity fans to suck up as much water as possible. Make sure the circulation of air is also so abundant in the room and use the humidifiers if possible.

Use Commercial Carpet Shampoo

Your regular supermart shampoo won't do this trick! You must buy specialized carpet shampoo from departmental stores and make sure that you use only a sponge to rub the carpet's surface.

Applying a generous amount of shampoo on the carpet, use moderate pressure on the sponge to soak the phone on the carpet, and then with the dry rug or blotting sheets, suck up the excess water.

Use Chemical Cleaners for Eliminating any Form of Contamination

Before the professional cleaners are not on your door, you can also use chemical cleaners to remove any form of contamination like pet urine stains or poop from damaging the delicate carpet fibres even further!

Chemical cleaners generally use superior grade reactance that kills microorganisms and protect your carpets from secondary damage.

Once these steps have been undertaken for the professional water damage carpet cleaning services to arrive at your place, co-operate as much with the carpet cleaners and try to avoid any further contamination by keeping your kids and pets at bay.
