Tips To Hire Chefs For Fast Food Center Or Restaurant In India
Are you looking to hire chefs for a fast food center in India? There are many chefs out there with different kinds of backgrounds.
If you are a new business then might be you have to think about the menu you and your future customers might like. Are you a business that has created a following for a specific style in cooking? All these and many other questions should be asked before even looking for a chef.
So you know the type of menu you want. You just require the chef to cook it now. So you might be looking for online sites detailing the type of chef necessary with the salary etc just like when you hire a shop assistant in India. You may have already got a few CVs sent to you. Some of the potential candidates may have worked in some good hotels you know. Be honest with yourself, and shortlist people you feel you can work with. After all, you are the person that is going to have to be in touch with this person. And, often Chefs do like to work on their own.
Well, you have gone through thousands of CVs and shortlisted 5 appropriate chefs for the position. They have cooked all types of dishes that you want to ...
... have on the menu and it would appear they have worked in similar types of venues. Call them for interviews on different days. Be sure you have their CV with you so that you can ask them to go through their work experience and make notes according to their employment history. It is also a way to cross-check if they have mentioned anything extra in their CV. Have your menu with you and ask them to explain how they will cook and serve one of the dishes. Ask them to cook and observe if they maintain hygiene in the kitchen. Also, see if they know how to cook nutritious food.
Be sure to ask them about their strength and weakness, don’t let them go quiet on their weakness, as we all have them. This will help you check if they are really honest and inform you about it. If you don’t understand any answer from their cooking point of view as you are not a chef yourself, then it is fine to ask them to explain more in detail.
So you have the ideal chef for the job and they have agreed to join. Be sure you have weekly meetings to figure out how things are going. Make sure you get the background verification of the chef done just like you would have done the Address Verification of staff.
Hope that this helps and it makes life a bit simpler speaking of your chef recruitment procedure.
