What treatment have you opted for your heel pain? Did you even visit the doctor or do you think the pain will vanish just like the way it appeared? Many of us postpone visiting a doctor thinking that the heel pain will go away with the passage of time. But sadly that does not happen. On the contrary the opposite happens. The pain increases, you start to limp because you are unable to walk and in the long run you depend on crutches to move around. If you do not want this to happen to you then visit a podiatrist in Bath today. Get yourself thoroughly checked so that you can get rid of this ailment once and for all.

The moment you experience heel pain you should make sure that you are wearing the right shoes. Ill-fitting shoes can cause severe damage to your feet. Get rid of shoes with high heels and all those shoes that you are not comfortable wearing but you were still putting up with because of fashion trends. The idea behind wearing shoes is to protect your feet from any kind of damage. Comfort should be of utmost importance when you buy a pair ...
... of shoes. If you compromise on this, your feet are going to suffer.

Next you need to pay attention to your working hours. Does you work involve standing on your feet for long hours? If yes, then look for ways in which you can change this. When you stand for long hours, you are putting undue pressure on the soles of your feet. As a result, you will experience numbness of feet, tingling sensation and even cramp in the muscles. Walk around a bit so that there is a proper flow of blood in your legs and you don’t feel exhausted at the end of the day.

When you return from work, you can try out these home remedies in order to get relief from heel pain. Use ice cold packs and press it against the sole of your feet and the middle area. Press the cold pack for duration of 15 minutes on each foot. You can put your foot in a tub of cold water and then in a tub of warm water in an alternate fashion. The fluctuation in temperature will help to fight the tingling sensation and get rid of the inflammation. When you go to sleep don’t forget to wear night splinters. It will stretch your feet and give it the desired relaxation.

Whenever you are at home, you should try out the stretching exercises. When you stretch your foot, it helps to relax the muscles and prevents cramps in the muscles as well as tightening of the muscles. When you do not stretch your feet, they are more prone to injuries. So make it a habit to stretch your feet twice daily. Once after you get up from sleep and once before hitting the bed. You should stretch your legs before trying out any exercise as well.

And finally, you should visit a podiatrist in Bath if the heel pain still persists. Explain to the doctor the kind of pain you are experiencing. Undergo all the tests recommended by the podiatrist. Share the test reports with him so that he can check them and recommend the future course of treatment. Make sure to follow the podiatrist’s recommendations if you really wish to improve your health. Don’t forget that our feet carry our entire body weight and it undergoes extensive wear and tear every single day. Hence proper care of your foot is a must.
