Infants Have Been Able To Distinguish The Right And Wrong

The Daily Mail cited the words of Paul Bloom, who is a psychologist from Yale University, that babies seem to have innate ability to perceive good and evil. In the experiment, Bloom asked babies aged from 6 months to 1 year old to watch a puppet shows, in the show, a colorful puppet with eyes were climbing assisted by a puppet, another one was waiting for an opportunity to push down the mountain climber. After watching a few times, the researchers put both the kind-hearted puppet and evil puppet at front of the babies. It was found that babies liked the kind-hearted puppet, in other words, they obviously like the good guys. "The results showed that infants aged from 6 months to 10 months preferred to good and hated the 'bad guys. Bloom said to the reporter of New York Times in U.S.
Babies have the basic moral principles at a very young age, which really shocked the people who always regard the infant brain as an unwritten paper.
Another two simulation scenarios also showed babies had a sense moral. in the situation, the researchers designed a single morality play in which a toy dog wanted to open the box. Among ...
... the play, a teddy bear helped the toy dog lift the lid while the other teddy bears was sitting on the box lid stubbornly with the aim to prevent toy dog to open it. In another similar situation, a puppet cat played the ball-rolling game with two toy rabbits. Similarly, one rabbit played as good man while the other played as bad guy, pick the ball up and run away. Bloom said both the two experiments showed that most babies stand at the side of the good guys. 21-month-old babies seem to be more intense. When the researchers simulated the same scenario for them and allowed them to recover for the toy or food distribution. Most babies took back the food from naughty rabbits, a baby even beat the head of bad guys as a punishment.
More and more evidences show that people have a basic sense of morality born. Bloom said that well-designed experiments show that newborn babies have moral values and judgments of moral in their minds. However, Bloom's conclusion is also being challenged, for example, Natya Reissland from Durham University said everything depended on the person's reference, pulling the ball up the hill means helping others, which is made by their own moral judgments, and baby may just like to see things up rather than things down.
