Tourist Attractions In Menorca

If you are looking for a fun day out, you could do worse than visiting the Aquarock Water Park, which is just south of Ciutadella and near to the beach at Cala en Bosc. Attractions include a go-kart track, trampolines, a kamikaze, and a wave machine.
With sand dunes and a secluded pinewood behind it, the beach at Cala Pregonda is the perfect place to go for a picnic by the sea. Also nearby is the beach at Binimel La, which does not have any shaded areas but it is a wonderful sandy beach nonetheless.
Binisues is a manor house that has been turned into a museum feature dedicated to illustrating the traditional Menorcan way of life. It was originally the home of the Salort y Martorell family, and the house still contains all of the original furniture and paintings, as well as an exhibition of mounted butterflies.
The hand carved caves at Cales Coves, on the coast of Menorca, were originally used as burial chambers and homes, and some of them date back as far as the 9th century BC. It is about an hours walk from Son Vitamina, or you can take a boat during the summer months.
The three hundred foot high ...
... cliffs at Cap de Cavalleria, the Northernmost point of Majorca, are home to a wide variety of marine birds including Kites, Peregrines, and Sea Eagles. There is a lighthouse at the top of the cliff that is currently inaccessible, although if you can brave strong winds, you can explore the headlands around it.
The Carme Church and convent was built way back in the 1700s, and the convent was home to an order of Carmelite monks before it was taken over and used as a prison and court of justice in 1835. Today, the cloisters are home to a large market where you can buy fresh produce.
The Fortress at La Mola was built in 1848 as a replacement for the destroyed Sant Felip Fort, and guards the entrance to Mao Harbour. It was used as a high security prison during the Spanish Civil War, and is now a popular tourist attraction, with huge cannons and tunnels aplenty.
At the Xoriguer Gin Distillery, you can sample a wide variety of locally produced gins, spirits, and liqueurs. They make some very unusual aromatic liqueurs here, including the sweet Hierbas, which is made from camomile, and Calent, which is made from aniseed, cinnamon, and saffron.
