Protein Bars: The Ideal Way To Consume Protein
Until about a decade ago, before the best protein bars made their way to Indian grocery stores’ shelves, the classic staple for a gym goer was bananas! They would eat a lot of bananas every day in order to make sure that their body had the right amount of nutrients to be able to work out the way it was supposed to. However, for the majority of Indians which consisted a vegetarian population, it was difficult to make much progress because of the severe lack of protein in their diets. Sure, the protein powders were bought and sold in bags of 5 kilos at a time, but they were not always tasty, and the right kind of nutrition defied our vegetarian fitness enthusiasts.
In came the new snack for them: a protein bar. It is made from the right kind of ingredients, and is often available in a variety of flavours and sizes, making sure that there is something good for everyone in it. Quite often, these contains essential nuts and seeds to make them more tasty and add those extra nutrients to these bars.
All in all, there are a lot of reasons why protein bars are the modern source of protein. They are popular for a reason ...
... - they are perfect for the hustle that is ingrained in all of us. We spend busy lives, always on the move, and we don’t often have the time to make a snack or cook our own health meals. In that way, protein bars are perfect even for those of us who don’t work out much! It is just a healthy snack that everyone can eat and thereby avoid junk food.
Sure, it is far from a vada pav or a samosa which tastes really nice and makes us salivate at the mere mention of it. But there are reasons which make it a better snack. For example, there are sugar free protein bars which are often the only sugar free ready to eat snack option for diabetics. These people also live very hectic lives, and a sugar free source of protein that comes in a snack form is a god send for most of them.
Let’s talk about junk food now - the mind can play a lot of tricks to convince ourselves that there are some healthy aspects to them. For example, you can argue that the kabuli chana in the chhole bhature are a type of lentil or pulse, and hence, they can easily count as protein. But what about the bhatura that goes with it? Or a Kulcha, if that’s how you consume it? It contains maida and a lot of oil - which makes it a not so ideal option for anybody who wants to be fit!
Protein bars on the other hand, are made from pure, healthy and actual ingredients that one cannot avoid accepting are very good for you! There doesn’t need to be any fear in your mind while having them!
