How would you know that a your supplier of used engines will not just run away with your money? Strictly speaking, there's no absolutely sure answer to that, but certainly there are plenty of things you can do in terms of vetting a used engine company. Here's where you start:

1. Does the company provide CARFAX reports? Carfax is a service that discloses vehicle history on used cars, among others.

The details on the vehicle history report will include information pertaining or relevant to its engine, such as mileage accumulated. You'll want to know how much estimated useful life to expect from the used engines that are being offered for your consideration.

2. Are they BBB-certified? Companies selling used engines are in a market that is heavily influenced by track record and reputations. That's why they should be participants in the reliability program of the Better Business Bureau.

BBB accreditation helps convince the buying public that sellers of used engines back them up with their commitment to uphold customer satisfaction. Even if a lemon does manage ...
... to slip through their quality safety net, the customer won't be left hanging.

3. Warranty. Since dealers of used engines stand to lose a lot of business if bad word of mouth gets around, they will try to do their best in supporting each sale with a watertight warranty policy.

The last thing they want is the embarrassing situation where they have to repair the used engines they sell, so the technical department tests the engines quite thoroughly first before handing them over to the sales people.

The prevailing standard these days among reputable vendors is the one-year warranty, and nearly all of the dealers who deserve your consideration will offer unlimited miles during this coverage.

Ask for other warranty promos that may be on offer at the time of your negotiation.

4. Do some research. Are you looking at engines that have been engineered and assembled to original manufacturer specification? If your dealer can back this up convincingly and with documentation, then you have reason to be confident that your car will stay on the road and away from sick bay.

5. Check them out. Test them. Poke them with questions. Observe how they respond to questions, such the fine points of differentiating remanufactured engines from rebuilt ones.

If they give you the mumbo jumbo other than simply pointing out that rebuilt used engines are those that were broken, taken apart and then put together again with the defective parts replaced, as compared to remanufactured engines that are completely disassembled with typically just the crankshaft and camshafts (magnafluxed, repolished), the block and head retained, and most everything else being replaced with new parts.

Remanufactured used engines are carefully worked over and returned to current or latest available blueprint specs or better, while rebuilt engines do not come with the same level of quality assurances.

About US:- This vetting process, or your own set of personal informed strategy, will help you find a good, reliable match when you go choosing from the array of nearly-new used engines that have verified track records, and were remanufactured or rebuilt to exacting standards, with a rock-solid warranty for good measure.
