Pivot Treatment And Wellness Centers Welcome Melissa Lissi Blanchard As New Clinical Director
1888PressRelease - Pivot Treatment and Wellness Centers expands addiction program to offer services to pregnant women. Tanya Young Williams, Pivot CEO, embraces underserved community of pregnant women struggling with addiction.
Miami, FL - Pivot Treatment and Wellness Centers (Pivot) names Lissi Blanchard as its new Clinical Director. Blanchard has over 20 years of clinical experience and is recognized as a leader in addiction treatment for pregnant women. She is a Certified Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addiction Professional and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. “Lissi’s clinical expertise, tremendous experience and stellar reputation adds immediate, positive impact to Pivot. We are excited to have her lead our clinical team,” said Tanya Young Williams, CEO of Pivot.
Pregnant women suffering in addiction are a misunderstood demographic. As noted by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, “prenatal substance use is a significant public health concern. Proper identification of pregnant women with a SUD is necessary in order to facilitate treatment. Such treatment not only ...
... improves pregnancy outcomes but also reduces the likelihood of the newborn and any older children being raised by a mother with an untreated SUD, which can have lasting negative effects on a range of child health and development outcomes.” For 10 years, Lissi grew the pregnancy program at the Gratitude House in West Palm Beach, Florida. Under Blanchard’s direction, Pivot now offers a program specifically geared to meet the complex demands of pregnant women called “Guiding Expectant Mothers (G.E.M.) in Treatment”. The G.E.M. program services women up to six months in pregnancy. “Pivot modified its proprietary curriculum, 12 Pillars of Wellness, to address the immediate concerns and needs of a pregnant client. With G.E.M., we support the client’s choices and provide the tools necessary to enter the next phase of her life sober and well,” said Young Williams.
Pivot Treatment and Wellness Centers, and its affiliates, offer a full continuum of care from Detox to Sober Living. Pivot’s oceanside location serves as a backdrop to offer unique partial hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment experiences that engage, excite and heal its clients.
