Migration Wizard Stops Midway While Migrating From Notes To Exchange

Whenever user thinks of exporting emails from Lotus Notes email client to MS Exchange Server email platform, one thing is always in his mind - would this migration would be feasible or not? There'll be any loss of data across boundaries? These questions are bound to arise and leave anyone berserk.
If you are using Mailbox migration wizard for Notes to Exchange migration, then are some problems or complications that you can come across while moving from Lotus Notes to Exchange Server. Actually what happens is when you try to migrate your Lotus Notes mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the Exchange Mailbox Migration Wizard (Mailmig.exe) may stop responding (crash) with an access violation (AV) (Exception: c0000005) in the nNOTES.dll file. Drwtsn32.log file appears which shows the log for uncommitted operations during migration process. Going through such obstacles, isn't it wise to use professional Notes to Exchange migration software that leaves no stone unturned in providing complete and accurate migration.
Reasons behind this issue
This issue may occur if a Lotus Notes mailbox contains a corrupted ...
... message. The Lotus Notes Nxrtf.dll and Nnotes.dll binary files cause the Mailbox Migration Wizard (Mailmig.exe) to stop responding when the wizard tries to migrate a corrupted mailbox item.
Resolution for this problem
In order to resolve this issue, remove the message that caused the access violation from the Lotus Notes mailbox, and then rerun the Mailbox Migration Wizard. For that you need to follow the given below steps:
Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the temporary folder used by the Migration Wizard. Each time the Migration Wizard runs, a new folder is created in this temporary storage folder.
Open the newest folder that was created by the Mailbox Migration Wizard. In this folder, the PRI and SEC file names have numbers, and each number corresponds to a particular mailbox.
Locate the last numbered file, and then open the corresponding PRI file by using a text editor, such as Notepad. This file contains the name of the mailbox. All messages that have already been migrated are listed in this file, folder-by-folder. The last message in this file indicates the last message that the Migration Wizard processed successfully. From this information, you can determine that the next message in this mailbox caused the access violation in the Mailbox Migration Wizard.
Remove the message that follows this last message in the PRI file from the Lotus Notes mailbox.
Restart the Mailbox Migration Wizard, and then migrate the remaining messages into Exchange 2000 Server.
It's always advisable to use technologically advanced migration tool to avoid any kind of data loss during migration. Notes to Exchange migration software is best in its functionality and provides you with immediate results.
