The best time for the yatra is during the Shravani Mela festival that falls between July and August.

The yatra involves visiting four different pilgrimage sites that are spread across the country — Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram. As per the mythology, the Pandavas in the Mahabharata had announced these places particularly to wash off all the sins.
