Did you know every skin type reacts differently to each ingredient? Understanding the skin type helps us to find the right products that can take care of our skin gracefully and make it flawless. You don’t need to worry, we have come up with some product suggestions as well for your skin type. How to know your skin type is a valid question that needs to be answered. The Skin is as unique as you are ...
... but broadly it will fall into one of these seven types of skin: Oily, Dry, Normal, Combination, Sensitive, Dehydrated and Acne-prone. Let’s understand the skin type in details-

Common Types of Skin- how to know your skin type

No major skin issue.
COMBINATION SKIN

Usually dry on the cheeks but oily in the T-zone area.
Enlarge pores (usually on the nose).
Maybe dry-combination (dry on the cheeks, normal-to-oily in the t-zone) or oily combination (oily in the t-zone, dry to normal on the cheeks).

ACNE-PRONE SKIN

Prone to acne.
Usually combination to oily.

It can be caused by sensitivity or hormonal imbalance.
How to know your skin type in few simple steps:-
Step 1- Wash your face

Face wash- how to know your skin type
Wet your face with normal water then take a small amount of skin cleanser or face wash on the palm of your hand. Gently massage with your fingertips and cover all areas of your face with the cleanser or facial soap. Thoroughly rinse with normal or cool water and pat dry your face with a soft towel.

Step 2- Wait for an hour

After washing your face just wait for an hour and don’t apply any products including moisturizers on your skin. Avoid touching your face as well to know the exact skin type you have. You can read a book or listen to songs for passing the time.

Step 3- Dab your face with a tissue

Now, the wait is over, Pat your T-zone (It includes your forehead and nose because your nose forms a bridge base of the ‘T’) with a tissue and see what happens to it. If the oil rubbed on-off it then you could have oily or combination skin. If you have dry skin, your face will feel dry after cleansing whereas oily skin will feel cleaner right after washing it. Your T-zone will feel clean if you have combination skin, but your cheeks will feel tight. Sensitive skin will react and may cause itchy skin or a rash.

Step 4- Notice how your skin feels

Notice how your skin feels to know your skin type
If you have sensitive skin, your face will get red, itchy, or a rash could form after using certain facial products. Oily skin will start to feel greasy again as your day continues. You can get pimples or acne at any age, especially if you have an oily skin type. But if your skin doesn’t fall under any of these categories and you’re free of these problem areas, you have normal skin which requires low maintenance but care too.
