When Travel Becomes A Full-time Job

While you may have read a lot of articles about how you can sell your belongings and travel abroad all your life, not everybody is up for that lifestyle. There are millions of people who, despite getting jealous of full-time travelers, never want to adapt their lifestyle. You might have felt jealous of people who get clicked at exotic locations around the world and upload their photos on every social media platform available on the internet. If you are contemplating adapting this nomadic lifestyle, you need to know why it is not for everyone.
Zero stability
You might have traveled to Indonesia or Thailand and thought that yes, this is the country where I see myself spending my retirement. However, to spend time over a vacation in a gorgeous place and to live your life there are two different things. When you decide to stay in a new country every few months, you have to find work according to your abilities, which you may or may not be able to find. If you are an engineer, for example, the local laws may prevent you from working on a fulltime job, and you may have to work ...
... in a job that you despise. Still, you would do the dishes or drive a cab, for instance, just because you want to stay in that country for a few months.
And if you are a person who hates finding hotels for reservations, imagine your plight when you have to find yourself an accommodation every few months. Some hostels allow the tourists to live for a long time, and some travelers find new friends to live with them. Basically, you cannot expect stability at all from a nomadic lifestyle, as the name obviously suggests.
There are more goodbyes than hellos
When you live as an expat or a fulltime traveler, you always meet someone interesting who you think you would spend your life with. You may also seek romantic relationships, but travel takes precedence, almost always, for you and for everyone else. It would be rare to find someone who would want to live their dreams with you. You may be planning to drive in Car Rentals in Chennai through Tamil Nadu in India, while your potential partner may be planning to fly to Hawai. You cannot have expectations from anyone you just met a few days ago, and it becomes highly annoying after a few instances of broken hearts.
People often don’t know themselves until they reach their late 30s and sometimes 40s. You may want to become a world nomad in your 20s, but get highly bored of it in your 30s, which is quite late to begin a normal career in your homeland. Or you may want to have a new base in a new country you found to be extremely fascinating, but your education, money, etc. may not be in favor. Therefore, if you ever think of becoming a nomad for life, you need to think it over at least a hundred times in your mind.
