India is a wonderful travel destination contains multiple geographical areas. It has desert, seashore, valley, mountains, jungle, rivers etc. In this article, we are going to discuss about the historic desert in India and few details about Rajasthan. It is called as "Thar Desert" that occupies northwestern Rajasthan located in India. The northwestern portion of Rajasthan is sandy and dry. It's a thinly populated sandy desert. Between the desert and the aravalli hills, there is a forest called northwestern thorn scrub. It's surrounding the desert like a band. Desert usually receives very less amount of rain fall. Thar receives 400mm of rain in an average year. The temperature will be very high as it could be more than 45 °C during the summer and the winter season will be extremely freezing. Camel is the best animal that will be used for transportation.

Now let us see the popular historic places and the tourist destination in Rajasthan.

Ajmer:

This is the historic city based in Rajasthan. It is also a pilgrimage for Hindus and Muslims.

Taragarh:

Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpra:

Initially it was a Jain temple constructed during the 1153 C.E and converted as a mosque by Qutubuddin Aibak.

Magazine:

Magazine is the city museum of Price Salim. He is the son of Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is the house of ancient collection of the Mughal and Rajput armor. It is a nice place to visit.

Pushkar Lake:

It is a small town ship and has the Pushkar Lake which is 23 kms from Ajmer. It has 52 bathing ghats built around the lake.

Ranthambore National Park:

Tigers are widely decreasing in numbers and everywhere we can see the slogans and banners saying that save the life of the tigers. Government has taken this as a challenge and protecting tigers from hunting etc. Ranthambore National Park is a exemplary zoo taken the efforts of saving tigers. This park is located near Sawai Madhopur.

Kota:

Kota is another beautiful place located on the bank of river Chambal. It is a fertile land surrounded with green environment.

Museum:

Rao Madho Singh Museum is an ancient museum that contains old costumes, weapons and stuffed beasts and the preserved murals are the assets of this ancient museum. We have another museum called Brij Vilas Palace Museum. It contains the collection of stone idols and the fragments.

Picnic spots:

We can have a joyful picnic to the near by Chambal garden and Chatar Bilas gardens. Chambal garden is popular for the pond which contains lot of crocodiles and gharials. Chatar has a wide range of royal cenotaphs.
Apart from the above, Rajasthan has many spiritual spots such as mosque and hindu temples. Over all, Rajastan is a nice tourist spot. Sometimes we can have an adventurous trip by the sand blow of high velocity. The heavy sand blows sometimes covers the blue sky.
