The fun social networking app, House Party, allows you to have face-to-face chats with your friends and family. Aren’t you just fascinated by its catchy logo of a hand in front of the red back-drop? Well, the hand means different things to different people. Want to know all the ropes? Read on to know what the sign is and how you can use it.

The Secret Of The Hand

The fun app doesn’t intend to spoil the fun with confusion. The symbols used in the platform are simple and easy to digest. Yet, it is found that people have added their own meanings to the cute little hand symbol. So what’s the real significance of the yellow hand? It just waves at your friends!

The elements are pretty simple. Whenever you come online, you will see this hand symbol next to many names. Actually, once your contact list is opened, you will be able to see all the contacts with their beautiful pictures. The ones who are online at present will be highlighted differently. The tiny hand symbols beside the online contacts are signs of waving. Once you tap on any hand, it will give your friend a message indicating that you are waving ...
... at them. This waving sign shows that you are eager to start a conversation with your friend. It’s like a “Hi” before a talk.

If you are lucky enough, your friend may wave back at you or text you. You can also call a friend by choosing the tiny green calling symbol. Calling is made simple by the House Party! You can also jump in the conversation if your friend is busy on a call with someone else. Click on Join and get involved. This way, you can call your tribe anytime.

Is A Wave Similar To A Message?

No. But it can lead to further messages. Waving actually means that you want to tell your friend that you are online. You give your friend the liberty to choose whether he wants to talk to you or not. You don’t force a conversation here. You simply provide a signal that you are ready to chit-chat with him at the present moment, only if he wants to. Sometimes, we lack words to initiate a conversation. While the basic “Hello” seems dull and forceful, a wave is rather cool. Bonus, you don’t need to think much for the right word to start chatting. You give the other side a choice.

Messages, on the other hand, are traditional ways of starting a conversation. While it is up to the user to choose whether he wants to wave or send a message, most users these days begin with a wave. A message somewhere adds pressure on the other side to reply back. Also, if the other side isn’t ready enough to respond to the message, it may hurt the sender’s sentiments.

A wave is a casual approach to invite the other side for a conversation. It also adds a cool tinge to the initiation of the conversation. However, waving is an informal technique and must not be used for official discussions.

Creating A Room In House Party

Who said you could wave at only one friend? You can wave at many friends at the same moment. Or, if you want to talk to all of them at the same time, you have an excellent option. Just create a room.

To create a room, you just need to click on the plus sign, lying somewhere on the top. Once you do that, you can type the names of people you want to add in the room. Choose your people wisely, as you can’t add more than eight people at once.

You are now ready to have the best of conversations ever. Do you see the yellow hand at the bottom? Tap on it, and all your friends in the room will get a wave from you. Once the room is created, you can play games, hold video calls, or only chit chat. It’s all up to you.

House Party’s Wave Isn’t Similar To Facebook’s Wave

The concept of the wave is loved by the users of both the social networks. While the purpose of both the waves is the same, the slight difference cannot be ignored.

Facebook allows you to wave at random people, even to the ones who are not in your contacts. While this may seem like a great opportunity, many get disappointed by unwanted dislikes in their inboxes.

However, the House Party values your privacy and tries to protect it by all means. Want to know how? You can wave at only those people with whom you have had a word in the past. You can also send it to others, but they must be in your contact list, at least. There is goodness in the word “Consent.”

Simplicity At Its Best

What’s so unique about House Party? Well, its simplistic nature is its true beauty. Who wants fuss in basic conversations? While we all seek comfort and simplicity in our daily conversations, House Party just gives you that. It enables one to start a conversation with only one tap. On the one hand, the youth finds it cool, while on the other hand, the oldies prefer to use it for its simple features. All in all, the users are delighted with this fun-to-use way of communication.
