Dursley is an English countryside that is situated in southern Gloucestershire, England. This is a historic town and has the remains of an ancient civilisation. People here still follow the native way of living and have matched up with the modern age in basic things keeping the tradition intact.



Dursley, which was once a bustling market place, is situated at the edge of Cotswolds ridge and is adjacent to River Severn. You should visit this place if you are a Harry Potter fan. J K Rowling, in her famous series of Harry Potter, depicted this place as the home town for Dursley family. The place was talked about in multiple books and later shown in movies as well. The place was also referred to in Richard II. So, there is a lot of memories associated with the place.



The place has witnessed a number of eminent personalities as well who had once selected the place to live. Some of the notable the residents were William Shakespeare, Evelyn Waugh and Peter Currell Brown. Shakespeare is known to have lived for eight years in Dursley when he was a school teacher.
