Jay Shetty is a 7-year-old boy from London and was born with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy (CP), is a muscle disorder caused by brain damage, possibly during birth. The disorder impacts the part of the brain responsible for controlling muscles.

In Jay’s case, he suffered a collapsed lung during birth. This resulted in a lack of oxygen to the brain, known as Asphyxia. This brain injury lead to the development of CP. This left Jay unable to sit-up straight, walk, or even feed himself.

Jay has suffered quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which impairs all four limbs. Doctors also believe he may be blind, which is caused by the lack of muscle control in his eyes. After 7 years of taking care of the demanding disorder, the parents, Shilpa and Raj, are trying an experimental treatment involving stem cell research.
