Windows update can be performed by installing updates either from an external media or directly from the Internet. Though, Windows updates provide more flexibility and improve the productivity with the new features, it also in some situations results in problems. These problems generally arise when the file is installed from a virus-infected storage media. In few such situations, e-mails saved in Inbox might get automatically deleted after being read. Moreover, deleted e-mails do not appear in the 'Deleted Items' folder. An easy way to overcome such e-mail deletion scenarios is by restoring them from an updated backup. But, if no backup of the deleted e-mails is available, then you will need to opt for an effective third-party Recover Deleted Email application.

To illustrate the above problem, consider a practical case of Windows update from USB drive. The update gets installed and your system works fine. However, the main problem occurs when you open MS Outlook and read your e-mails saved in Inbox. The moment you close an e-mail after reading, it automatically gets deleted. ...
... Moreover, when you look into 'Deleted Items' folder, you do not see the deleted e-mail.

Cause:

The fundamental reason for the occurrence of the above error message is virus infection from the USB drive.

Note: To prevent such situations, scan the external hard drive with a good anti-virus.

Resolution:

To get past above e-mail deletion situation, you will need to:

1.Restore e-mail from an updated backup.
2.Opt for an effective third-party Deleted Email Recovery software, in case no backup is available (since you read the e-mail for the first time) or backup falling short of restoring required e-mails(apart from that one).

A Deleted Mail Recovery tool is an easy to understand software that allows recovery of all lost e-mails from your PST file. The recovered e-mail can be stored at specified location. The tool performs recovery using high-end scanning methods.

Stellar Phoenix Deleted Email Recovery is an advanced, yet safe deleted email recovery utility that recovers all PST file items (e-mails, notes, tasks, contacts, etc) post deletion. Supported by MS Outlook 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000, the Deleted Mail Recovery software restores recovered PST file data in .eml, .msg, or .pst file.
