An OST (.ost) file is one of the files supported by Microsoft Outlook. It is a folder file that allows you to work offline. You can later synchronize the changes when the connection is restored with the Exchange server. Its best usage is visible when you are working in environments where the connectivity is limited or unreliable, as , it is not hampered by the slow performance of the Network or Internet. The reason behind such a behavior is that working on an OST file is very much similar to working on a MS Word document as it requires only a computer system and the application.
