Drinking 8 to 10 glass of water daily is good for the skin. Many times we get this advice but this is not enough when the level of pollution outside has crossed the danger level. Summer has almost reached the door; the temperature is going to cross all levels. Skincare is nothing less than a challenge in this situation. Either you can allow skin problems to take over your life or you can fight back. Nothing is invincible if you are determined to achieve it even if it about keeping skin problems at bay. It is time to dump all old tactics and start playing hardball.
So, what do we have in our new strategies? Before that have a look on your skin and understand its type. To determine that wash your face and leave it for 30 minutes without applying any serum or cream. Examine your cheek, chin, forehead, and nose. Your skin falls in a normal category if you see the shine on your face. If you feel additional shine on the nose and chin, it is oily. Make facial expression like a smile or squeeze your forehead, if you sense tightening in your skin, it is dry.

Grab some citrus rich fruit, it is summer. Put oranges, grapes, papaya, and leafy vegetables in your refrigerator. These are rich in antioxidants. Not only our diet but our skin also demands more antioxidants in summer. Antioxidants are important to stay younger as it fights free radicals and increase collagen production. It is also effective in treating skin marks, acne, etc.. Include antioxidant-rich serum in your facial pack and use it frequently in summer. If you are making your face pack at home, you can pour lemon juice in it.
• Rose water
Rose water is a simple and inexpensive solution for skincare in summer. It can be used in multiple ways. You can always keep a bottle of natural rose water handy at your workplace or home. To make rose water at home, pick some rose your backyard and put it in water for a night. You can also buy it from a store near you but only go for steam distilled rose water for better result.
• Rely on sunscreen
Cut down your make up in summer and rely mostly on sunscreen. People who are mostly outside in summer must apply it after every three hours and don’t forget to apply it on your hands and feet even if they are covered. In summer sun rays penetrate deep in our skin giving us a tanned skin.
• Natural Lavender water
Maintaining fresh skin is nearly an impossible task. You wash your face twice or thrice but again the sweat will pop up and ruin the freshness but there is a hack that can give you fresh skin instantly and also soothes it. This hack is nothing but natural Lavender water. Like rose water, it maintains the freshness of your skin throughout the day. Here also, always go for steam distilled lavender water and don’t rely on cheap products.
