... short distance south of the old port are more than one more extensive sandy beaches that have fine opinions of the Island of Lobos. Whereas the small beach by the old harbour in Corralejo seems to making use of the space, these bigger beaches are aimed at holidaymakers staying in the north of Fuerteventura, and have everything needed for a day at the beach on Fuerteventura.
The town is surrounded by sand dunes and miles of sandy beaches that form a nature reserve. The beaches between Punta de Tivas and the Tres Islas hotels, called Playa del Pozo, Playa del Medano and Playa de Viejo run in to each other and this sandy shore is now and again called Flag Beach. These beaches are exposed to the wind and this makes these beaches idealistic places to pursue those actions that require a bit more life to the water. Circular stone structures provide a windbreak for those that just want to take vantage of Fuerteventura's sunny climate.
Galore of these beaches, altho it is genuinely one long beach, are utilized by naturists. The attitude to naturism on Fuerteventura is relaxed and as such there are no indicated naturist beaches. Naturists generally prefer to be on beaches that are away from the resort centres, so that they don't offend other bathers. The beach at Playa de Pozo looks being the most usual with naturists.
