Diving is a thrilling experience whether it is your first dive or it is your hundredth time. If you take a dive once you will understand the charm and the essence of the entire affair. You will realize how good it feels to go for a dive. However there are certain things that you should do and should avoid after going for a dive. Are you ready to find out what are those?

Things to Do after You Go for a Dive:

Hydrate yourself well. Once you are back from diving, drink lots of water to hydrate yourself. When you are underwater you are wearing the diving suit, you are carrying the oxygen mask and you are breathing through your mouth rather than your nose. As such your throat gets parched. The moment you are out of the water, drink to quench your thirst so that you don’t get dehydrated.

After you are back from diving, give a break of 30 minutes before you eat anything. Since you have burnt a lot of calories diving you need to replenish your energy. And the best way to do so is by eating salads, fresh fruits and wholesome meals. In short you should eat healthy ...
... stuff so that you are full but not feel like that you have eaten too much.

Go for a light massage after your dive. Underwater the pressure of the water is already high and you had to wear a heavy dive suit and carry the oxygen tank as well. All this would have bogged you down. And as such you need to go for a massage to relive your sore muscles and fatigue.

Many are not aware but diving can have a taxing effect on your body just like an aerobic workout. So you need to take proper rest after your day’s diving is over. The moment you hit the bed, you are sure to fall asleep fast.

Things Not to Do after a Dive:

Avoid drinking after you had your dive. It is better to avoid alcohol for the day. You are already feeling tired and taking alcohol can increase the dizziness factor.

You should not take a flight after a dive. The pressure in the cabin will make you feel sick, as your body is still not prepared to take the changes in altitude. As a result you might fall sick. So avoid taking a flight on the day you have planned your dive.

Follow the above-mentioned list of to-do things and the ones that you need to avoid. This will ensure that you enjoy your dive and do not feel uneasy or squeamish at any point of time.
