Anyone wanting a look at the last playoff matchup between these teams need not look far. They were matched in last year's Semi-Finals when Chicago beat Vancouver in six. This year isn't much different than last year except Chicago holds home ice. Both teams feature new players but remain offensive powerhouses, they ranked number two and three in the league in scoring this season.

In a recap of the first round Chicago had a rough go against the Predators. The real saving grace for Chicago's emergence to round 2 was Nashville's inability to capitalize on power plays. The Canucks played a reinvigorated Kings team, struggling at first, but finding their way to victory in six games. The teams have quite a roster, with Mikael Samuelsson being the best player for the two teams. The Canucks acquired Samuelsson last off-season, and his 7 goals in these nhl betting playoffs leads all players thus far. His 10 points puts him third overall.

Likely the biggest problem for the Blackhawks, in the Canucks vs Blackhawks betting series, is sub-par goaltending. However, Antti Niemi did post two shutout victories, proving his mettle. As for the Canucks powerhouse Luongo, he was actually taken out during the previous series because of lackluster performance. Niemi has also compiled a better save percentage than Bobby Lu, and better goals against average. Unfortunately, when Luongo is on he is one of the hardest goalies to beat in the NHL. Take that on top of the fact that he won a Gold Medal in the recent Olympics and I think you can see he will find his form. He will likely be the difference in the series between two teams, who are enemies already, and will put together a physical contest. In the end, though, I am putting my betting odds on Vancouver to take the series.
