Shaheen Bagh May Turn Jallianwala Bagh After Delhi Polls: Asaduddin Owaisi

On Wednesday, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the government could use force to end the agitation in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, where the Protests are going on against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) from last 50 days. When Owaisi was asked whether there were indications from the government that Shaheen Bagh would be cleared after 8 February. In response, he said, ‘Might be they will shoot them. Shaheen Bagh may be converted into Jallianwala Bagh. It can happen. The BJP minister gave a ‘statement of firing’. The government should give an answer as to who is spreading radicalizing.’

Talking further about NPR and NRC, Owaisi said, ‘The government should give a clear answer that NRC will not be implemented until 2024. Why are they spending Rs 3900 crore for NPR? I am thinking this because I have been a student of history. Hitler conducted a census twice during his reign. He then pushed the Jews into a gas chamber. I do not want something like this happening in our country.’
