E-commerce: 5 Good Ideas For Collecting More Email Addresses
Despite its relative age, emailing remains one of the most effective and accessible communication tools.
It is even an incomparable means for e-merchants to get in touch with their customers, for example, to inform them of their latest promotions or a new collection not to be missed.
Only, it is, therefore, necessary to obtain the email addresses of its customers, and it is not always easy. Fortunately, there are simple ways to boost the collection of email addresses on your e-commerce business site.
1) Place forms strategically on your site
The simplest and most obvious way to collect email addresses is to have small forms in strategic places on your site.
The footer (i.e. the footer) is the most common place to place one. If a visitor sees it, it implies that he has scrolled an entire page and therefore that he has a certain interest in your site: he will, therefore, be more inclined to subscribe to your newsletter.
2) Offer compensation
Of course, it is not always enough to ask politely to convince.
However, no one is insensitive to gifts, discounts or exclusive benefits: ...
... add value to your newsletter by offering a reward for any registration.
3) Use a pop-up window
Pop-ups should be used in moderation, otherwise, the navigation will be unpleasant and scare off your visitors.
But, used sparingly and at the right times, they can be formidable.
For example, with a pop-up opening directly on the arrival of a new visitor and offering him an immediate reduction, it is easy to put him in good arrangements and make him want to subscribe to your newsletter.
Note, in the example above, how the advantages of registration are highlighted (free 24-hour delivery, private sales, etc.)
Similarly, we can use exit pop-ups, which activate when the visitor is about to leave the site, in order to retain him.
4) Request registration to access a wish list
Online shoppers like to be able to put aside the products for which they have a crush but which they cannot necessarily buy immediately.
This is why any good e-commerce site has a “favourites” or “wish list” functionality.
But imagine that it is possible to take advantage of this much-appreciated function, by offering to save your wishlist in exchange for registration (and therefore an email address).
5) Post a form advertisement on Facebook
Form advertising is a particularly effective Facebook ad format for collecting email addresses.
It allows you to request different information from your prospect by offering to fill out a very simple and fast form, in particular in exchange for a reward of all kinds.
