We have often heard and read about the legendary love stories like Romeo-Juliet, Antony-Cleopatra, Heer-Ranjha in India and the list goes on. These are the stories that weren’t successful but left a mark in the history of the world. However, there are some successful love stories that have left an equally powerful impact on people. These stories have made people believe in true love.

1. Michael Hoskins and Turia Pitt

Michael and Turia had been childhood sweethearts. Michael had always been sure that she is her soulmate. However, while participating is a 100 km marathon in Kimberley, Turia got caught in a bushfire. Most of her body was burned and she suffered endless burns. The damage was so intensive that she lost all the fingers on her right hand along with her thumb. She underwent 200 surgeries in five months where she stayed in the hospital. But Michael never left her side. When she was battling her burns in ICU, he proposed to her and they got engaged. It is a tale that touches the deep corners of your heart.

This love story sounds like a Bollywood movie. Pradyumna was a known artist. In 1971, he made a portrait of Charlotte and they fell in love with each other. They got married and then Charlotte had to leave for Sweden. Pradyumna, being a man of honour, didn’t want his wife to spend money on his tickets. He promised her to see her one day. To keep his promise, he cycled all the way to Sweden and it took him five months. Today, they have lived four decades of blissful married life with two wonderful kids.

3. Waseem And Ayesha

In 2013, Ayesha of 42 years was diagnosed with renal failure. She went through numerous dialysis. The couple travelled to Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and many other places looking for a cure for her renal issues. At last, doctors advised kidney transplants. 52 years old Waseem didn’t think twice before donating his kidney to his wife because he couldn’t see her in pain anymore. That’s true love.

4. Taylor And Danielle

Taylor was a US military bomb disposal expert. At 23 years of age, in 2012 he lost all four of his limbs in an IED in Afghanistan. He said he could see his limbs flying off as he somersaulted in the air after the blast. In the hospital, he wasn’t able to anything by himself. But his long-time girlfriend, Danielle, stood by his side. She not only took care of him but also loved his selflessly. In 2014, Taylor proposed her and they got engaged.

5. Vijaykanth And Leela

The couple, in June 2013, was travelling from Alwar, Rajasthan to Uttarakhand. That year, there were devastating floods. In one of such floods, Leela went missing. For the next one and a half years, Vijaykanth kept looking for his wife even after she was officially declared dead. His family even received death compensation. Despite that, Vijaykanth went from village to village, away from his five kids, looking for her. He only had his wife’s photo with her. However, 19 months later, he found his wife in a nearby village. But she was extremely traumatised and failed to recognise her husband. Still, he brought her home with him. And with time she got better.

These few love stories are not only successful but also inspiring. It inspires hope and belief that such kind of love exists in reality and not just in movies.
