Completing this qualification is equally suitable for the individuals who want to become a trainer, consultant, private tutor, instructor, headmaster, education/career consultants, office clerk, administration assistant, lecturer or classroom assistant.
There are no special requirements if you want to complete this qualification. However, you have to be at least 19 years of age in order to have this qualification. It is equally important to have a basic understanding of the numeracy, English Language, literacy and ICT. If you meet these requirements, then you are eligible to complete this Level-3 qualification.

However, it is vital to complete this qualification, as most employers look for the Level-3 qualification before appointing a teacher or trainer for any field of Further Education.
The Level 3 AET training course is divided in three units and you have to pass three written assessments in order to have this qualification. In most accredited institutes, this tutorial program is completed within three days and you have to complete assignments for each unit. On the last day of tutorial, each participant is expected to present a Micro-Teach session of 15 minutes.
The success of this session is measured by both trainer and peers. The micro-teach session is supposed to prepare a candidate for real-life teaching scenarios. You will be expected to prepare a presentation and deliver it in front of the trainer as well as peers. In this faculty development technique, your trainer may even review the recording of a teaching session if you are completing the qualification through a distance-learning program.
The micro-teach sessions are mandatory for the AET course Manchester or other cities in UK. It enables a candidate to receive constructive feedback from the peers and trainer about what has worked and which areas need improvement with regards to the teaching technique.
Many accredited institutes make it mandatory for the participants of online AET/PTLLS learning program to attend the classroom for the micro-teach sessions, as presenting a micro-teach session in front of the peers is more effective than sending a video of micro-teach session. Some institutes allow the candidates of distance learning program to send the videos of micro-teach sessions. The length of any micro-teach session is usually 15-minutes in most institutes. The participants of this qualification learn about the following subjects through the three units.
First Unit
1) Understanding the roles, responsibilities and relationships in training as well as education
2) Learning about inclusive learning and teaching approaches
Second Unit
3) Plan effective learning sessions for individuals and groups
Third Unit
4) Understanding the importance of assessment in education
5) Learning about the principles and practices of assessment
