Similarities And Differences Between An Architect And An Urban Planner
In the last few days, we have come across a similar query where our users want to know the difference between architects and urban planners. They want to know whether they are different or are there any relation between the two. So we decided to discuss this topic in order to clear as much confusion as possible. Well, there are differences and similarities both. We are doing to discuss both of them.
Differences between the two:
An urban planner is a professional who designs the building. It is on the basis of the blueprint created by the architect that the building will be constructed. The urban planner on the other hand is the individual who surveys that area to make sure that it is suitable for building construction. He is the one who will also make sure that all the rules and regulations are properly followed and implemented. His job description covers a broader area than that of the architect.
The architect is only concerned about his job profile. The urban planner needs to have information and idea about all the aspects of the construction industry. Right from the job ...
... of the architect to that of the labor, he needs to have an in-depth idea of everything. He is the one who should make sure that labor laws are followed and not violated. He is the point of contact for all those who are involved in the construction process.
Similarities between the two:
Both are inter-related, more so in case of urban planners. They have to be in contact with the architect to make sure that the urban planning recommended by them is implemented. In short, the urban planner should have an idea of the job profile of the architect. Similarly, the architect too has to make sure that he follows the guidelines recommended by the urban planner.
Both of them are inter-dependent. Their job overlaps at many stages of construction. One cannot progress without the other. An architect learns a lot from the urban planner while the later collects information from the architect regarding the project, as and when required. As such, they are two side of the same coin.
These are some of the major differences and similarities between the two. Is there anything else that you would like to add to this list? Feel free to tell us in the comments section. We would love to hear from you about these too.
Have you ever come across an urban planner or an architect? What was your experience? Whether you wish to get a building constructed or you run a construction firm, you have to interact with both of them at one stage or the other. In fact, it is important to be in touch with them so that all of you can be on the same page. When you are getting your house built from scratch, this becomes all the more significant. What do you think? Make sure that you opt for a well-established construction firm for all your urban planning Sydney needs.
