I Went Bungee Jumping In India And Got Soar Like A Bird Once Again

I have been trekking in and around Uttarakhand and tried river rafting too. This time I had heard that Rishikesh has the best bungee jumping in India and has a fully equipped team of experts from New Zealand. You jump from practically a 22 storey building, reading it only made me shudder but in a way the good kind. By now I was an expert in quite a few adventurous activities like paragliding in Bir Billing or trekking through knee deep snow in Kuari Pass, so it is safe to say I do like to put myself through thrilling situations. But this particular one was something that made me extra excited.

I reached the bungee jumping location and saw the jumping platform. Suddenly looking at the height of the platform, it hit me that I would be jumping, no, plummeting full speed towards the river below. I was definitely a bit nervous but I was also equally excited as bungee jumping was on my bucket list for years now. My friends had tried it a couple of years before, but unfortunately, I was unable to join that plan. And now here I was all by myself. ... I was standing in the queue and waiting for my turn, I started chatting with the group behind me. They had come from Bangalore to spend a week exploring all adventure activities in Rishikesh. They were kind enough to accept me in their group and I felt better as all of them were also as nervous and excited as me.

Soon it was my turn. Before I could change my mind the instructor had pushed me from the platform and now I was plunging down to earth from 272 feet. I screamed my lungs out so much with excitement that I lost my voice by the end of it. But that was not the only thing I lost that day bungee jumping in Rishikesh, I also conquered the fear of heights that sent shocks through my body. Once I almost touched the ground I swung about for a bit until they began to pull me back up. When I went paragliding I was flying tandem with a pilot and the paraglider but here I was roped in and free falling towards the earth.

I did think before I was pushed I would smile or scream or at least stand in a decent pose for the camera but instead, I was taking a few steps backwards and one step forward and this was recorded on camera. Whenever I look at the video of bungee jumping Rishikesh or show it to others they laugh at my hesitation, I do too but it was by far the best adventure experience. I will recommend this to every thrill seeker. My next stop is skydiving but until then I am rejoicing in the fact that I managed to complete this challenge and to think I almost chickened out. It’s a good thing that the instructor stands there all set to push you. I would definitely recommend trying bungee jumping Rishikesh as it is the best bungee jumping in India experiences available.
