The famous Muktinath Yatra in Nepal is a clear example that the country is not all about Treks and adventures and mountains and hills. There is much more to it and that is when religious tours come in.
The famous muktinath yatra
is a holy tour to the renowned Muktinath Temple that is highly revered both by the Hindus and the Buddhists alike. People from across the globe come to visit this temple that is extremely popular in the country of Nepal, second only to Pashupati Nath Temple.
Muktinath Yatra—How to go?
There are two ways of reaching the famous Muktinath Temple:
I. You can start the Muktinath Yatra from Kathmandu and reach Pokhara either by vehicles like SUV, Mahindra Scorpio, Bus, Mini Bus etc. or by a flight. From Pokhara, you take a flight to Jomsom and from Jomsom to Muktinath; you can take a shared Jeep. The downward journey to Kathmandu can be concluded in the same way.

II. The other way is to start from Gorakhpur by vehicles such as Toyota Innova, Tempo Traveler, Bus, Mahindra Scorpio etc. and reach Pokhara via ...
... Kathmandu. Cover the distance from Pokhara to Jomsom to Muktinath by a bus or SUVs such as Scorpio and Sumo. The return journey can be concluded in the similar manner.
Muktinath Yatra—what to expect?
The famous Muktinath Yatra or the Muktinath Tour is as blissful as its final destination—the Muktinath Temple. The journey is an admirable experience that starts from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. The trail that takes that pilgrims to the temple located at 3800 meters at the Mustang Valley is mesmerizingly beautiful and makes you forget all your worldly affairs for some time. The natural beauty of the region brings forth the most splendid views. Serene Valleys, lush grasslands and forests, meadows and small yet picture perfect rural villages are a sight to behold.
The Muktinath Temple is a small pagoda style structure that is thronged by devotees all the year round. It is one of the highest Vishnu temples in the world and is regarded as 106th among the 108 Divya Desams that are considered sacred by the Vaishnavas. The central shrine of the temple is a human size statue of Sri Muktinath in gold and is one among the eight most sacred shrines of Hindus; the other seven being Tirupati, Pushkar, Srirangam, Thotadri, Naimisharanya, Badrinath and Srimushnam.
Inside the temple, in the outer courtyard, there are 108 bull-face shaped water spouts, made in stone. The holy water from the sacred river Kaligandaki flows out of these water spouts and the pilgrims visiting the temple make it a point to take a holy bath under this water. It is believed that doing so will get them Mukti or salvation from the worldly affairs. For the same reason, the temple is called the Muktinath temple and Lord Vishnu is regarded as Muktinath or the Lord of salvation.
Buddhists call the temple ‘Chumig Gyatsa’ which literally means ‘Hundred waters’ in Tibetan but their faith in the temple is as strong as the Hindus. As per their religious beliefs,
Muktinath Temple is regarded as one among the 24 Tantric places and is considered to be the place of Dakinis or goddesses who are known as sky dancers. The Buddhists believe the main shrine to be an expression of Avalokitesvara.
Both the religions have a strong and a common belief that this temple site is the only religious site on earth that has all the five elements, i.e. sky, water, earth, fire, and air that make all the material things around.
