Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek 4 Days And 5 Days
Poon hill trek is short and easy trekking in the Annapurna region Nepal. It is an ideal trekking destination for the beginners, family, elderly and students. Visitors with one week holiday for Nepal or even less than a week can do this trek.
Ghorepani Poon hill trek is one of the busiest trekking routes in the Annapurna trekking region. According to your time limit, you can do 2 days poon hill trek, 3 days poon hill trek, 4 days poon hill trek, 5 days poon hill trek or a few days longer.
Ghorepani Poon hill trek begins with a drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. There are public and private transportation available in Pokhara. It takes around 2 hrs to drive to Nayapul then treks to Tikhedhunga or Ulleri on the first day passing Birethanti, Sudame, and Hile villages.

After a drive to Nayapul, the trek starts from here to Birethanti where the Annapurna conservation area starts. And following Bhurungdi river passing some waterfall, farmlands and villages. You will spend the first night in Ulleri then trek to Ghorepani, visit Poon hill and trek back to Nayapul in 2 days and drive to Pokhara.
4 Days Poon Hill trek Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri
You will drive with private or public transport this morning from Pokhara to Nayapul. It is about 2 hrs drive then trek starts. You will reach Birethanti after a half an hour trek from Nayapul and check-in your trekking permit and follow Bhurungdi river to go to Ulleri. You will spend the first night here enjoying the view of green hills, valleys and the mountains.
Day 02: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani
After breakfast in your lodge, you will start the trek towards Ghorepani. Trekking on the gradually ascending trail, you will reach Banthanti then enter the forest. You will trek through the forest for about 3 hrs passing a small place Nangethanti before reaching Ghorepani.
Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Hile
You will hike in the early morning with a flashlight to Poon hill for the beautiful sunrise. It takes about an hour for slower hikers and about a half an hour for the people who hike fast. You will enjoy the sunrise, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massif from Poon hill then hike back to Ghorepani for breakfast. After breakfast, you will trek back the same way to hile and spend a night here.
Day 04: Trek from Hile to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara
This is your shortest day trek of Ghorepani Poon hill trek. You only trek around 3 to 4 hrs on a flat part to Nayapul where you can take a transport to Pokhara.

5 Days Poon Hill Trek
5 Days Ghorepani Poon hill trek is one of the famous trekking itineraries. It is also known as Ghorepani Ghandruk circuit trek. This is a classic trekking itinerary which is following by most of the trekkers. This is a perfect trekking itinerary for the people who have one week to 10 days holiday in Nepal.
5 Days Poon hill trek itinerary also starts with a drive to Nayapul and ends at the same place after making a circle. The trek goes to Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Ghandruk or Syauli Bazaar and joins back in Nayapul in 5 days.
5 Days Poon Hill Trek Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri
You will drive from Pokhara in the morning with private transport from your hotel or public transport from Baglungbuspark. A drive about two hrs takes to you to Nayapul from where your trek starts. You will reach Birethanti after walking a half an hour from Nayapul from here the Annapurna conservation area starts. After check-in your permit here in Birethanti, you trek towards Ulleri following Bhurungdi river, passing some nice villages and farmlands.
Day 02: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani
You will have your breakfast in your lodge in Ulleri and start the trek with a gradual ascend to Banthanti. After Banthanti, you will trek through a dense forest of rhododendron, pine, oak and other trees about 3 hrs to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is the main junction to go to Jomsom Muktinath trek, Annapurna base camp trek and Ghandruk circuit trek. So, you will see hundreds of trekkers in this place.
Day 03: Hike to Poon hill and trek to Tadapani
Today, you hike to Poon Hill in the early morning before daylight. You need to use your flashlight this morning. Hiking to Poon Hill is about an hour from where you will see unblocking sunrise and magnificent view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalaya. After enjoying the view from Poon Hill, you will hike back to Ghorepani and have breakfast. Then trek goes to Tadapani following the oppositive hill of Poon hill. You climb a hill from Ghorepani about an hour and descend 2 more hours to Banthanti and trek another hour to Tadapani.
Day 04: Trek from Tadapani to Syauli Bazaar
You will enjoy another sunrise from Tadaani in the morning with a beautiful view of the Himalaya and have breakfast. After your breakfast, you start your trek through the forest to Ghandruk.
Ghandruk is the biggest Gurung village. Here, you will stop for lunch or you may spend a night. If you only stop for lunch here, you will trek another 2 hrs downwards to Syauli Bazaar.
Day 05: Trek from Syauli Bazaar to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara
This is your last day trek of the Ghorepani Poon hill. You only trek about 2 hrs on a flat part to Nayapul. You will join the trail what you passed on the first day in Birethanti today. The trek ends in Nayapul and takes a drive back to Pokhara.
