You might be doing a lot of googling, talking to friends, and accordingly making career choices. Be it your first job or a job for growth, and there are plenty of career options out there which you can uptake. When people lookout for a different career, they search for three facets – certainty, uncertainty, and contribution. How do certainty and uncertainty co-exist? Certainty is where one gets a fixed salary, guarantee of climbing the success ladder, and set working hours. Uncertainty is where you receive additional bonus or reward for being a trustworthy employee and opportunity to travel overseas.
The final and crucial aspect of any employment is job satisfaction. You achieve this only when you contribute to society. One of the industries that are booming is intellectual property rights. It was one of the professions that did not receive much recognition earlier. With businesses going digital, factors such as copyrights, patents, etc. have become crucial. Thanks to the popularity of IPR, aspirants can take up intellectual property talent search examination and spread their knowledge in the industry.
Following ...
... reasons explain the scope after completing intellectual property examinations –
1) Growing industry: The IPR profession has grown tremendously over the years. The number of patents, copyrights, and trademark registrations has increased over the years. The local businesses nowadays are getting their trademark registered in India. The outsourcing of job from the global market has increased. Some types of jobs outsourced in India are patent docketing, patent searching, and paralegal. Considering engineering and pharma graduates are growing, companies like IBM and GSK are hiring patent analytics and work of art. Even patent docketing and communication are done in Indian Companies since the legal services are expensive in the US.
2) Salary: As soon you complete your IPR examinations and course, you can begin the career with an annual package of INR 3 lakh in comparison to an IT industry where engineers start their job with an income of INR 12,000 monthly. Those who opt for MTech start their career with up to INR 5 lakh yearly.
3) Easy growth: The growth in patent and IP industry is promising than those who begin their career in the IT industry. Since the industry is a growing one, students and professionals who begin their job now, have the scope of growth in the future. Those who already hold an experience of two to three years, earn INR 3 lakh per annum. This kind of package is applicable only for applicants who have given the exams.
4) Reputed companies: Those companies who have good research bandwidth will only spend on patent protection. For instance, companies such as Google, Facebook, Samsung, GSK, etc. consistently have openings in the IPR cell. Entering such an industry boosts not only your career but also increases the potential salary. After the intellectual property talent search examination, some of these institutes might provide job opportunities in reputed organisations.
5) International exposure: Companies such as IBM and Dr Reddy market their products at the global level. Such products get launched in multiple countries. Working in the IP profession will give you an edge of handline international projects. Upon promotion, you may receive opportunities to work in countries like the US and UK.
