If you are a new parent or going to be one soon, then the following details about tummy disturbances in kids, are for you. Kids, especially newborns and toddlers are more prone to falling prey to stomach disorders. That is mostly because their immune system is not strong enough or fully developed to fight bad bacteria and viruses.

Although they are breastfed and regularly supplied with essential nutrients, young kids still face mild to severe digestive problems more often. As it is natural yet an unpredictable phenomenon, as a parent you might not be prepared all the time. However, you can surely have a pack of Enterogermina with you to provide your baby with instant relief from the following tummy problems.

1. Colic

Colic is one of the most common tummy disturbances in babies under six months of age. It is nothing but intense, constant, and prolonged fussiness or crying even when the baby is adequately fed. The condition is frustrating not only for the baby but for the parents as well. Abdominal cramps caused by gas is the most typical cause of colic.

2. Vomiting

After ...
... colic, vomiting takes the lead in disrupting your baby’s childhood. You might have often noticed little ones spitting out milk with incessant burps, a very common phenomenon. However, if regular vomiting leads to forceful and spontaneous throwing up, your child requires medical assistance. The condition worsens when the vomit is green or red. Seek immediate medical help.

3. Reflux

Reflux is a form of vomiting experienced by every newborn, but with a slight difference. Reflux refers to the constant spitting out of either water or milk while burping or in between feeds. The digestive disorder usually takes place when the muscle between the stomach and the oesophagus is still being developed.

4. Constipation

Although it is normal for breastfed newborns to not pass stools for a couple of days, watch out for signs of constipation. If your baby is getting constipated constantly and restless due to the condition, it could pose a serious threat. That is because, the child might feel uncomfortable and even experience abdominal cramps, which is not a good thing.

The best way to treat constipation is by including fiber in your child’s diet. Also ensure you increase their water intake so that all the impurities are flushed out easily.

5. Diarrhoea

While constipation may make your child stop passing stools for a few days, diarrhoea can have them pass stools constantly. Both the conditions are fairly common and normal in newborns. However, if your baby shows unusual patterns in passing stools, it may require you to see the doctor.

Diarrhoea in children causes them to pass watery stools several times for a few days along with frequent abdominal pain. The condition is serious when it continues for a couple of weeks as your child might feel uneasy due to constant stool passing. Often times, there are also chances of diarrhoea leading to dehydration and worsening the condition further.

Once your child is diagnosed with diarrhoea, you should immediately see a doctor and consult them for prescription medications along with probiotic drinks. Probiotics such as Enterogermina helps restore your child’s gut flora in the most effective way. Besides, it also helps fight bad bacteria in the stomach and prevent digestive disorders.
