Growing within the boundary of Annapurna Ecosystem Conservation area, the trek route to the Annapurna Base Camp is filled with various endangered species of Ferns, Wild Orchids, Rhododendrons, Alpines and much more. The thick bamboo bushes lining the entire trail makes it difficult for the harshest of Sun Rays to penetrate. It is often believed that some of these rare plants and herbs found in this region have unique medicinal and healing properties.
• Machchapuchre base Camp falls on route the Annapurna Base camp trek. Often referred to as the Fish Tail peak of the Himalayas, Machhapuchhre is a unique sight. To retain the beautiful shape of the peak, trekking to the top is banned. However, the nearest possible point being Machhapuchhre Base camp, people can easily see the peak up close and personal.
• The wildlife of Annapurna Conservation Area includes Himalayan Monal, Red-Billed Chough, Blood pheasant and yellow-billed Chough. Therare mammalian species found in this National Park includes Black deers of Himalayas, Martens, Lagur Monkeys, Red Panda, Musk Deer, Snow Leopards, Himalayan Tahr, and Himalaya wolves among many other yet to be discovered species. Besides the massive yaks that roam all over the Himalayan region, the protected wildlife is something worth being captured into celluloid.
