Places to visit in hong kong
Hong Kong is known worldwide as a glamorous city and a top choice for luxury shopping. But it is steeped in city-state culture and history, and it has much to offer with its mouth-watering dim sum and an impressive horizon. There is an energy about it in Hong Kong that is hard to describe. In the center of the city, millions of people collapse in a very small space that somehow leads to faulty work. There is something new and unique around every corner, be it an ancient temple, a shop selling the latest electronic gadgets, or a man carrying a bird caged for a walk. There is also another side of Hong Kong, where you will find forest-covered mountains, hiking trails, beautiful beaches, islands, and traditional fishing villages.
1. Star Ferry
Riding Hong Kong's famous Star Ferry with roots back in 1880 cost only a few Hong Kong dollars, making it one of the best deals in all of Hong Kong. Victoria Harbor is a hive of activity, and ships of all shapes and sizes chug, zip or sail ...
... past as expert ferries captains of Star Ferries somehow survive the collision. When you travel the main route from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island, or more specifically, from Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) to Central, it is not difficult to bump into the dense towers of Hong Kong Island, which rise in front of you. The green is supported by mountains. The air away from the water is exceptionally refreshing, and wide-open spaces are an ideal antidote to the city's tight confines.
2. Hong Kong Skyline
Hong Kong has the most influential and recognizable skyline in the world. A dense collection of skyscrapers in the island of Hong Kong and Kowloon separated the city by mixing the surrounding mountains and the harbor. In the harbor, traditional red-piled Chinese junk boats and historic star ferry contrast sharply with the backdrop of modern high-rays. At night, the sky changes completely as the sky darkens and the city lights fill the scene.
3. Victoria Peak (The Peak)
You have not seen the best of Hong Kong, commonly known as Peak, until you are taken from Victoria Peak to the horizon. Take a tram ride to the top of this scenic view to see the skyscrapers, the bustling city, the harbor and the surrounding islands. The tram station is located near the entrance to Hong Kong Park by the Murray Building. At the top of the tram are the Peak Tower and the Peak Galleria with shops, restaurants and an observation deck. Most of the peak is covered with lush greenery, a large park with nature trails, and looks more beautiful with views of the metropolis below.
4. Big Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha Statue)
The 34-meter-high "Big Buddha" sits atop the Po Lin Monastery of Lantau Island, a secluded place until the 1993 statue. It is one of the largest Buddha statues of its kind in the world and has taken 12 years to complete. The shape is amazing, both seen from far and near. The establishment here is also incredible, surrounded by lush green forests and offers views of the sea and islands. Although you can take a bus, the best way to reach the Buddha is the beautiful Notch Ping cable car, which takes you on a 5.7-kilometer, 25-minute ride to the jungle, water and mountains.
5. Wong Tai Sin Temple
The Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the newest in Hong Kong and also one of the most interesting. Located in Kowloon, the original temple was a private structure built in 1920. It was later replaced in 1968 with a new building that visitors see today. The temple was built to honor Taoist god Wong Tai Sin, who the locals consider to be a good luck in horse racing and curing diseases. A festival in the name of Wong Tai Sin is held in the temple.
