Android 10 Upgrade Makes Some Samsung Galaxy S10 Users Unable To Use Their Mobile Phones
The owner of the Samsung Galaxy S10 found an annoying bug in the latest One UI 2 beta update that will bring Android 10 functionality to smartphones for the first time.
The serious error rejects the user's PIN, password or the way the phone is unlocked after rebooting. The problem is that the Galaxy S10 user can't verify their identity and can't access their device, making it a beautifully designed hyperbolic paperweight.
There is only one way to bypass the fault. If you are running the latest One UI 2 beta, be sure to set up the remote unlock feature before turning off the device (or running out of battery), then use the separate Find My Phone app to remove all biometric and on-screen information, remotely Lock the data.
This way you can unlock your smartphone. However, you still can't set a new PIN, pattern or password on your phone, otherwise the same problem will reappear.
The beta software is not designed to power your main smartphone. Instead, developers and internal employees use them to test the latest features and discover any improvements, bugs, or security issues. As well as any amazing ...
... faults - failures like this.
Therefore, we never recommend installing the beta on a stand-alone smartphone, no matter how much you want to use a UI 2.
If you are currently signing up for One UI 2 Beta, the best way is to avoid turning off the device until Samsung releases a new Beta update to resolve the issue. As always, we will keep you informed of all the updates that will be resolved.
It is unclear whether the same lock screen issue is plaguing the Galaxy Note 10 owner. The phone was recently added to the One UI 2 beta program.
Samsung revealed its dramatic One UI redesign last year. The Android-based operating system uses a new approach to smartphone user interface, recognizing that modern devices are moving more and more toward larger displays, making it difficult to reach every corner of the touch screen.
A UI moves all interactive elements of the operating system down to the lower third of the display. This makes one-handed operation of large-screen devices easier to manage, especially when walking and using the phone at the same time. What about the top of the screen? Well, Samsung cleans up the white space by moving everything down to the bottom of the screen, which contains ridiculously large menu titles and subtitles.
That was one aspect of the design. When the update was released on the Galaxy S9 last December, it turned out to be a bit different. Fortunately, Samsung seems to have been criticized on One UI 2, which uses the title to show more information.
Instead of simply announcing the name of the application (for example, a message), Samsung will now add some additional information that the user might want, such as the number of unread messages in the message.
The Korean company has also redesigned some notices to reduce their interference. Therefore, the incoming call will hardly occupy one-third of the display. Conversely, a small banner with an icon to accept or reject a call will float in the view. This is especially true when watching videos in the landscape or playing crazy mobile games.
The dark mode introduced last year has been adjusted and now appears in more areas of the operating system. Samsung will even darken your wallpaper so it won't burn your retina when you get back to the home screen.
A UI 2 also improved the tools used to manage phone usage. It allows you to track usage, screen time or enable focus mode to help avoid distractions.
