If you are planning to attend college, you already know that scholarships are free money. They are also not so easy to get. There are only so many scholarships and multitudes of students applying for them. But, there is another way to fund a significant portion of your college education, and earn college credits through testing for undergraduate courses you would normally have to complete. With the College Level Examination Program, or CLEP, students can earn credit for the knowledge they have gained through on-the-job training, independent studies and life experience. CLEP is an efficient way to accelerate your studies, finish your degree earlier and save a considerable amount of money in the process.

The average cost of one college credit at a private university is over $1,000. That does not include the additional cost of textbooks, which for some classes can be as much as $600. With CLEP, the cost of tuition can be greatly reduced, and these savings could be equivalent to a generous and very sizable scholarship. Currently, there are 34 CLEP exams covering a number of course ...
... subjects, including English composition and literature, natural and social sciences, history, business, psychology, college mathematics, government, economics and foreign languages.

All college students qualify to take CLEP exams for college credit. CLEP exams have been designed to allow students to show mastery in specific subjects through an examination process. Those who successfully pass a CLEP test can receive college credit for full semester, undergraduate courses without having to attend classes or pay for tuition, textbooks or class materials. The ability to accelerate your education is what makes CLEP so advantageous. Depending on your scores, you can earn from 3 to 12 college credits for each exam you take. CLEP makes it possible to skip over several general introductory courses, and move onto more interesting and degree specific courses. Some college students use CLEP to make up the few credits they lack for graduation without having to pay for or attend full term classes.

Each CLEP exam has 90 to 140 questions. Most will be multiple choice questions, although there may be fill-in and essay questions depending on the subject. Students can expect each CLEP tests to last 90 minutes. With over 1,900 college testing sites throughout the United States, most students should be able to find a CLEP test site within a reasonable distance from their home. There is a nominal charge for each CLEP exam as well as an administration fee charged by the college testing site. These fees combined amount to a tiny fraction of the cost of enrolling in and completing a college course. For the student who takes full advantage of CLEP to meet degree requirements, these savings can amount to a full semester or more of college tuition as well as the additional expenses associated with attending a college or university.

To get your education on the fast track with CLEP you will first need to determine if your college accepts CLEP credits. Then, go through the list of CLEP tests and decide which ones you want to take. The next, and most important step, is to start studying.

About Us:- To earn CLEP credits, you must pass the CLEP test. You will need to schedule an appointment for your exam at one of the CLEP college testing sites near you. Finally, take your exam.
