Joseph Joe Cada was born November 18, 1987. He is an American professional poker player from Shelby Charter Township, Michigan. He is well known as the winner of the Main Event at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Joe became a representative of Team PokerStars in 2009 in the few weeks before becoming the World Champion.

When he won the main event at the age of 21, Joe surpassed Peter Eastgate as the youngest champion ever to win a WSOP. Cada had two other WSOP cash wins both in 2009, and had been a regular online poker player for several years prior to winning the live WSOP event. He is mainly an online poker player by trade and has over $500,000 in total online tournament winnings. As of 2009, his total live tournament winnings have exceeded $8,550,000 which is some major cash for a 21 year old from Michigan.

His whole family loves to play cards, but his parents are not proud of his chosen profession. His agent has given him the nick name of the The Kid and he has also taken the role of the statesman of the profession in the media and political circles that want statements from The Kid.

... Cada started playing online poker at about the age of 16. He has twice staked accounts, but lost all the money that he had in the accounts which he shared with his brother Jerome. His first online poker account was with PartyPoker, even though he was not legally able to play in casinos prior to turning 21. He began playing at the Windsor casino in Ontario across the border from his Detroit-area home in which he lived. He earned enough playing at this casino to enter contests in the Bahamas and in Costa Rica.

When we won the WSOP, we was playing about 2,000 hands of poker per day online at PokerStars under the username jcada99. Cada has been a professional player for the last 6 years at the time he won the World Championship. Between the years of 2008 and 2009, Cada had earned $551,788 playing poker online. Prior to the tournament he had a $150,000 loss that caused him to have to find a financial backer for the WSOP. Eric Haber and Cliff Joseph paid his online fee in exchange for half of his earnings.

Joe says that he enjoys playing the Sunday Major tournaments at various online sites and trains online to learn from better players. He usually hosts many poker playing friends on Sundays to keep each other company when going through the Sundays of playing the various majors. Every Sunday, he has about 15 of his close friends play online at his house. Cada has several online aliases, some of which include jcada99 and Joe Cada on the Full Tilt Poker websites, jcada99 on PokerStars and JCADA99 on Absolute Poker.

The 2009 WSPO has certainly brought Cada fame that he never dreamed of. He is definitely a contender among poker players everywhere on line and has the track record of winning to not be taken lightly.
