In this article, we are going to visit the third largest city of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada. It is a wonderful tourist destination. The city is fully fertile with the help of the river Krishna. There is an attractive horticultural park in the entrance point of the city which has been established by the Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada. This park was named as the Rajiv Gandhi Park in the remembrance of the Former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi. This welcomes all the travelers to enter into the City.

Bhavani Island:

Vijayawada has got a marvelous Island called Bhavani Island. It is in the upstream. Its really a beautiful Island and a scenic picnic spot. You should not miss a trip to this Island when you visit Vijayawada.

Gandhi Hill:

To the remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi, the National Leader, this hill was created with seven stupas on it. From the ground, it will be around 500 ft height. Each Stupa has measured 52 ft. In the year of 1968 the former president of India Dr.Zakir Hussain was inaugurated this Gandhi Hill. This hill contains the Gandhi Memorial Library and a sound and light show about Mahatma Gandhi's life. It's a historical place that attracts all the travelers.

We see lot of wonderful neighbourhood places near to Vijayawada. Few of those are Mangalgiri, Kuchipudi and Gudivada.

Kuchipudi:

Kuchipudi is a village located 60 km away from Vijayawada. It is the popular village for its artistic divine. The creator of Kuchipudi classical dance Mr. Siddhendra Yogi was born in this village. The famous dance and the musical school have been started in memory of this Yogi.

Mangalgiri :

It is another wonderful village located around 12 km away from Vijayawada. It is popular for its fine cotton fabrics and checked and stripped fabrics. It has many historic temples. Its ultimately a craft village.

Gudivada:

It is another nice place close to Vijayawada. It is hardly 45 km away from Vijayawada. It is an ancient place has the existent history of 2000 years. It has got many beautiful temples.

Vijayawada is a place well organized with transportation. You can reach by road, air and train. It has got ancient temples with artistic works like paintings. On the whole, Vijayawada is a flourishing travel destination.
