Light snow and crystal clear blue water makes it a heavenly sight. The lake emits an unavoidable holy aura; spending ten minutes there will rejuvenate you in and out. The look on both sides of the approach road to the lake is stunning with no vegetation at all; no civilians, only army and their bunkers can be noticed far at the mountain slopes. The lake requires entry permit which the tour operator can arrange for.

CHOPTA VALLEY

You can’t skip Chopta Valley if you are visiting Gurudongmar Lake; it’s a picturesque place with much needed stop over for food and bio – break. It’s a post card like beautiful valley with a few small rivers running through, dirty roads and small sized huts offering home stay flanked by grand snow covered mountains all around the valley.
