Are you trying to install floor tiles by yourself? If you have or are planning to then skip the plan right at this moment. We have tried it and we are strongly against it. All the DIY videos uploaded in YouTube are quite misleading. All they tell you is how easy it is to do such things and all that you need is the tile-leveling spacers and you are good to go. But no one highlights the fact that the entire process is time consuming. What seems like a job for few hours will take up the entire day.



This is not all. The videos do not highlight the mess that will be created. While taking out the old tiles and installing the new ones, the entire room will be filled with dirt, dust and debris – all of which you have to clean once the work is done. Do you remember any DIY videos telling you this? Not a single one that we can remember. This is the first shock that you will get. And yes, we forgot to tell you, the dirt generated is extremely poisonous and exposure to it for few hours at a stretch will lead to breathing problems if you do not keep your mouth ...
... covered! Once you install the tiles, you will end up spending another few hours cleaning the mess. Did you sign for this? Well, we did not and we simply detested cleaning afterwards. In case you have kids or pets at home, ensure that they nowhere near to the room where the work is going on. You don’t want to expose them to harmful gases, dirt and dust. It is imply not worth it.



And the impression that you only need tile-leveling spacers for the perfect setting of tiles is so very misleading. What about the drill that you need to take of the tiles and all the other equipments involved? Tile spacers help to create equal space between different tiles and nothing else. It serves no other purpose than this. So let us come down to the cost. What if you don’t own a drill? It means that you will have to purchase it. Did the DIY video tell you about this extra cost? We don’t think so. If you are still thinking of doing it by yourself then be prepared to shell out more money in addition to the cost of the tiles that you have purchased.



Don’t you think that it is much better to hire an expert to do it for you? We strongly think so. You don’t have to take the headache of finishing the job, buying all the equipments required, cleaning up the mess after the job is done; the experts will do all these. And they will do a much better job than you on any given day. Why go through all these hassles when an expert is easily available? Just give them a call and tell the date when they need to come down and do the needful.
