The lake emits an unavoidable holy aura; spending ten minutes there will rejuvenate you in and out. The look on both sides of the approach road to the lake is stunning with no vegetation at all; no civilians, only army and their bunkers can be noticed far at the mountain slopes.
SUNDERBANS – THE AMAZON OF THE EAST
If you are looking for a perfect place for group travel and a respite from the daily grind then Sunder bans is a perfect abode. The Sunder bans in West Bengal are a UNESCO Heritage site. The name Sunder bans can be translated as “beautiful forest” derived from trees of the forest. It is the world’s largest Delta. Located in the Delta region of Padma, Meghna and Brahmaputra river basin this unique mangrove forest spreads over 10,200 sq km. The Sunder bans are the largest Tiger Reserve and National Park in India. The seemingly never ending expanse of water and forest is a sight to behold. Also visit Panchamukhani, the confluence of five rivers.
You can experience the local theatre (bonobibi yatra) performed by the villagers, which tells interesting stories about the Tiger Lord, forest god and goddess, fishermen, honey collectors with lots of songs and dances.
Enjoy a guided village walk, in which you can experience a close encounter with the locals and learn about their livelihood and life style. The beauty and the eeriness of the silent nature are simply spellbinding.
KAZIRANGA PARK - FAMOUS FOR RHINOS IN ASSAM
Drive from Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park is 05 hours. Do take an elephant safari in the morning to get a full view of the safari park, and also because wild animals are not afraid of elephants so you can get a closer view of the world life rhinos. At the Western wing of the park you can take a jeep safari and spend some time at Donga view point. In the central part of the park also take a jeep safari for viewing animals
