Spirulina is an organism that abundantly grows in both salt water and fresh water. This type of cyno bacteria comes from a family of single-celled microorganisms and is more colloquially known as blue-green algae. It has quickly become one of the world’s most popular natural sleep aid supplements which are loaded with various nutrient and antioxidant properties that can help your body function at its optimal level. It has very recently been researched and said to be one of the most helpful supplements and provides the body with several benefits. Some of those benefits are further mentioned here:
• Nutrient content:Much like plants, this species of micro-organism also produce energy from sunlight by using the process of photosynthesis. It was earlier consumed by ancient Aztecs. However, spirulina gained popularity after NASA proposed that this algae could be grown in space. They proposed this, because of the high content of nutrients in this algae and its nature of being a wholesome food. It is said that this might be one of the most nutrient-dense foods on Earth. It has several vitamins and minerals that help the body ...
... in many day-to-day activities.

• Powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties: Our body can sometimes suffer from oxidative damage that can further cause chronic inflammation and lead to life-threatening diseases like cancer. This is where an adequate dosage of spirulina can come in handy. Since it is an amazing source of antioxidants and bears a lot of anti-inflammatory properties, it can be very effective in protecting the body against such oxidative damage. Its primary active component, which also gives it the blue-green color, phycocyanin is one of the main reasons behind it. Phycocyanin efficiently fights the damaging free radicals and further reduces the production of molecules that signal inflammation, and provides the body with the powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
What are some other such products?
Apart from spirulina, other products made from Lion's mane mushrooms show similar results. These mushrooms are predominantly found in Asian countries like China, Japan, and India and get there name from the physical properties. These mushrooms are then extracted and can be used for medical purposes as well as the culinary world. The distinctive feature of lion's mane supplement is that they have bioactive supplements that are very beneficial to the body. You can find these products at online domains like vega.
