6 Steps To Removing Jelly Stains From Carpets

It is Saturday morning and you are almost finished cleaning your house. You are about to sit in the couch in the family room when all of a sudden you are greeted with a glob of sticky jelly on your carpet. Don’t you think that is antagonizing, when the family room is a prohibited area for eating? Why can’t they all just follow the rules? You have no clue when it comes to carpet stain removal Brisbane. You are frustrated and wondering how in the world are you going to get the stain out. Here are six steps to getting rid of sticky jelly from your carpet.
Step One
With a clean, un-sharpened knife remove all the jelly you can from the carpet. In order to protect the carpet fibres from damage use slow, gentle strokes.
Step Two
The next step is to check to see what type of carpet you have. Carpet reacts in different type of stains and their removal techniques. You don’t want to cause the stain to get worse or become permanent, do you? Of course you don’t. A long lasting stain ...
... could be left on the carpet if the wrong stain removal procedure is employed.
Carpets made from natural materials like wool, grass, or sisal reacts negatively to liquid treatments. In order to avoid damage or any other major problems, you should do a patch test before applying any solutions to the carpet. Choose an area on the rug that is pretty much hidden from view.
Allow a little time after the cleaning solution is applied. If your carpet starts to get lighter or brown in color, rinse the solution immediately from the carpet with cold water. The next step at this point is to call a professional Carpet Cleaning Brisbane company. Your goal is not to subject the carpet to any peril.
Step Three
Be certain to use cleaning chemical gloves. Add a 1/4 teaspoon of carpet shampoo to 1 liter of cold water and stir. The next step is to take teaspoon of carpet shampoo and then add it to about a liter of cold water. Stir. You can also use colourless detergent. Be certain that the water is cold and not hot. Hot water can set the stain. To reassure yourself that is okay to proceed perform a second patch test. Soak the cloth in the solution, take it out and then place it over the stain.
Step Four
After the solution is worked in thoroughly, remove the cloth from the carpet. Using a thick cloth or a kitchen towel apply gentle pressure to the wet carpet. This action will result in the removal of the water and the erasing of the stain. Repeat this procedure several times or until the stain is lifted. If all that labour does not remove all of the stain, then an alkaline mixture should be made. To a small container of warm water, mix in a teaspoon of ammonia.
Step Five
The carpet needs to be rinsed at this point. Saturate the patch with a spray bottle of warm water. Use a cloth or a kitchen towel to remove the wetness. If the process involved the use of ammonia, it would have to be neutralized. Vinegar will do the trick. This can be accomplished with a small amount of clear distilled vinegar added to a bowl of warm water. Blot out the water with a few kitchen towels.
Step Six
Totally drying out the carpet is the last step. To do this, pile several towels over the wet area, and then stack something heavy on top. Old telephone books will do the trick. If you use a book make sure you put a piece of plastic between the book and the towels while soaking up the last bit of liquid in the carpet. Leave the book on the rug for a few hours. Then remove it and leave to dry overnight. The following day, you will be greeted with clean, dry, spotless carpet.
