Google to update its algorithm to Florida 2 & A guide on whole of
Google algorithm

Google SearchLiaison recently tweeted about the latest google update called, “Florida 2”. It also stated in a tweet on March 13th that, “This week, we released a broad core algorithm update, as we do several times per year. Our guidance about such updates remains as we’ve covered before.”

Also Sullivan offered the previous guidance from March 12, 2018 on broad core updates.

Here’s what that tweet said:
“There’s no ‘fix’ for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. Over time, it may be that your content may rise relative to other pages.”

This may mean the current update about google is more inclined towards better content and hence better ranking.

Lets just have a look on everything about the Google algorithms, its history and present.

Google changes its algorithm every day and rolls out major changes every year. This is an activity the search engine giant has been up to since the 1990s. ...
... But why does it occur and what are the reasons for these updates.

What is Google’s PR algorithm?

PageRank or PR is an algorithm which is used by Google Search to provide ranks to websites in their search engine results. ‘PageRank’ was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. This algorithm, PageRank is used by Google as a way of evaluating the importance of website pages.

Importance of algorithm changed by Google
Google changes its algorithm so many times during the year that many minor changes often go unnoticed! But how these changes are likely to impact your website’s health? This is what is most important to understand. A change in algorithm or update can either help you as a business or hurt your website.

Because, with an algorithm change, there is likely to occur changes in the:
Search ranking of your website
Visibility of your website
Organic searches
Flow of traffic
Conversions
Return on investment or ROI
Revenue
Profit

Lets have a brief look into few past famous updates:

1) Google Broad Core Update 2018
Google confirmed back in early August, via a tweet by Danny Sullivan, that the brand new Google broad core update had officially rolled out
What are Broad Core Updates?
Google makes updates to the core algorithm on a daily basis. Sometimes updates come as often as twice a day. These updates are minor tweaks that help to improve the way the crawlers respond to search engine requests so that they can provide better results. The Broad Core Algorithm updates happen a few times per year and, as usual, Google remains very vague about what the updates included.
What we do know is that Google says the update’s primary focus was to improve search results (sure, that seems kind of overly obvious, but stay with me). They claim that sites that lost ranking did not do anything wrong, but that sites that deserved better rankings are also now receiving more ranking to compensate.

The consensus is that there is nothing that can be done to fix the sites that did lose rankings, and that while the changes focused on page content, they had nothing to do with quality.

2) Florida update 2003
On November 16th 2003, Google commenced an update called the Florida update which had a catastrophic effect for a very large number of websites.

Google had seen their search engine results manipulated by SEOs to a significant extent. Their reliance on PageRank to grade the authority of pages had led to the wholesale trading and buying of links with the primary purpose of influencing rankings on Google rather than for natural linking reasons. In some instances, people would not link to sites unless they thought it would not harm them or would benefit them for Google. Google SEO consisted mainly of ensuring your page had your primary search phrase placed in all appropriate places on your page and that your sought after phrase was inserted in the anchor text of any incoming links. Thousands of SEOs and webmasters followed these simple and basic rules and loved the fact that Google seemed to reward them by giving them top listings. This update was an attempt to redress the balance and get back to the way Google thinks that results should be calculated.

Some important specs to be considered from the Florida update are as follows:

a) Over-Optimization
It seems that some type of ‘SEO filter’ is applied to check that whether over-optimization is done on some particular keywords or phrases. For example, if a link has a key word/phrase, the website URL has the key word/phrase, the webpage text is also over burdened by keywords or key phrases, then that page should be penalized for over-optimization. This theory might work; when a search query is made, Google gets a set of pages that match the query and then the SEO filter is applied to each of them. If any pages are found to exceed the allowable optimization, then those pages are not shown in the results.

It was highly believed that Google became search term specific means it differentiates between commercial and non commercial keywords and key phrases. From constant testing and analysis, it is clear that this belief holds good. Now, where did Google manage to get that list of keywords and key phrases? The answer is that Google owns a large database of money keywords through its ad words program; Ad words dealt with the most commercial kind stuff and got much popularity; Google now knew which keywords and key terms were the most competitive ones and likely to be over SEO’d.

b)Stemming
Google introduced another feature, a basic LSI called “Stemming.” Simply put, Stemming matches keywords with other stem words (words originating from the keyword). With stemming, Google automatically searches for variations of words such as -ing forms and plurals
for example the word “like” will be matched to “like,” “likes,” “liking,” “likings,” “liked.” In other, words if you search for website design, you will be searching for websites design, website design, website designing, and websites designing.

c) Less importance to inbound links
Pages having low DA(domain authority)must be ranked low compared to pages having higher DA but, this isn’t the case with many sites. Often pages having high number of reciprocal, link exchanges are getting better ranked than the genuine pages. To avoid this, less importance is given to inbound links, reciprocal links and link exchanges.

Cope up for the new update by doing just few simple things:
- Stick onto the basic SEO
- What matters and grabs the attention most is "quality content". So, may be write short but make sure it is the best quality content.
- Have Good amount of backlinks as they are always helpful in ranking.
