• Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) permit

The total cost of both of these adds up to USD $40. These permits are checked at the different checkpoints along the entire trek route and can be easily obtained at either the Pokhara Tourist office or the Nepal Tourism Office in Kathmandu.

The highest point of the Annapurna Trek is at 17,769 feet and Altitude Sickness gets real at this level. Any individual, irrespective of the levels of fitness can be affected by Altitude Sickness. It is advisable to take all due precautions once you cross the 3000m mark. These include staying hydrated, taking adequate rest, and eating appropriately.
