A standard itinerary for the Everest Base Camp Trek
While there are several unique variations to this iconic trek, a standard one will include the following: On the first day, the trekkers arrive in Kathmandu and fly to Lukla from there. After landing in Lukla, they have to start their trek to the Phadking village.
Post that, a day will be spent trekking from the village of Phadking to Namche Bazaar, via Mojo. Namche Bazaar is regarded as an ideal stop for acclimatization; the rest of the day can be best spent by exploring the villages and surroundings. It is, then, the time to trek further from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche and even further to Pheriche.
After Namche Bazaar, Pheriche is regarded as the second-best stop for acclimatization. Post this stop lies a long day ahead. It is used to trek from Pheriche to Lobuche, an ascend of 600 m. From Lobuche, the trekkers need to hike to Gorak Shep which is regarded as the highest inhabited village across the world!
