At each year's MWC, there are pities.
The Mobile World Congress 2010 (World 3GSM Congress) finally ended on Feb 18th , 2010 (local time at Barcelona). Today let's have a look at some minor imperfections of MWC2010. This article also serves as our overview about this great communication event.

Windows Phone 7, still calls for more efforts
Microsoft released their latest Windows Phone 7 at MWC 2010. Windows Phone 7 comes with a series of "no support", like no support for OEM UI customization, no support for multi-task, no support for flash, no support for SD card installation application and etc. What's the worse, the new model is tied with a time tag which reads "light-years away". These almost kill our eagerness for the future of Microsoft and Windows Phone 7. No wonder Windows Phone 7 was the biggest pity of this year's MWC.

Symbian 3, not so many highlights
Nokia's emphasis at MWC 2010 was the joint release of MEEGO system with Intel, but on the other hand, Nokia didn't want to ...
... give up its Symbian system, therefore, Symbian 3 is Nokia's another emphasis. But this was just a demonstration video, and Symbian 3 didn't give us much hits. Widgets feature has already been available at Android system and Touch Wiz platform, and music-play rendering feature has already been a standard function in iPhone. These so called highlights didn't grasp our attention at all. Thus we call Symbian 3 the second biggest pity at WMC2010.

Three New Sony Ericsson Models, are they just upgrading versions?
Sony Ericsson indeed released three new models at the congress, named Vivaz Pro, X10 mini, and X10 mini Pro. But these three new models, no matter judged from appearance, or hardware, or software, gave us no hits at all! Instead of calling them as "new models", we preferred calling them "upgrading ones". Its banal performance at WMC 2010 came as no surprise to us at all, but we have to admit that this is really very, very disappointing.

Nokia C range mobile phones, somewhere but not in MWC 2010
Before the opening of MWC 2010, we anticipated that Nokia's C range mobile phones, which were buzz models in recent news, would made their appearance at the congress. Sadly, there was no single one Nokia model released at MWC 2010, although the MEEGO system jointly released by Nokia and Intel caused a considerable stir in the communication industry. I have to say the missing of new Nokia models was somewhat a pity for all Nokia fans.

Missing of Samsung Galaxy 2
Before the opening of MWC 2010, rumors went that Samsung would release Galaxy 2 at this congress. As far as we know, Samsung Galaxy 2 is equipped with some powerful features. However, no matter how brilliant its appearance was boasted to be, and no matter how powerful the Android 2.1 was roared to be, Samsung Galaxy 2 never showed up at MWC 2010. We can comfort ourselves by thinking Samsung might focus all its attention on its Bada system, but for Google fans like us, we lost an opportunity to have our hands on a great Android mobile phone.

Tegra phone, not allowed to have your hands on it
There had been rumors that K-touch, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, would release the first model running on Tegra system at MWC 2010 which somewhat activated our eagerness to it. In the Nvidia exhibit, we found that the logo of "K-touch" had indeed appeared alongside Tegra system which gave us the thought that K-touch would soon release the first Tegra mobile phone, but sadly, we found no relevant information until the end of this congress.

Nokia N900, a swan song of Maemo 5 system
Nokia gave journalists lots of guesswork on the first day of MWC 2010 and it would hold a joint news conference with Intel. Later they released the Latest Meego system which was specially designed for the future mobile devices, and this move almost drove Maemo 5 system on the wall. The latest Meego system adopted uniform QT as its developing tools and made the API standards open to everyone. Applications developed using these tools can be compatible in Symbian system and Maemo system. Meanwhile, Meego system comes with X86 infrastructures from Intel which set it apart from ARM camp.

Blackberry BIS 3.0 service, still under veil
At MWC 2010, RIM showed us its information express system of enterprise level. This new service would synchronize your Blackberry mobile phone with information of exchange service and contents of enterprise server from Microsoft. The Blackberry BIS 3.0 service could be seen as an integration of RIM's current services which allowed information between enterprises to be delivered in a more normal and fast manner. Considering our eagerness towards Blackberry BIS 3.0 service, we have good reasons to feel pity as this service is still not released.

Conclusion
Nothing in the world is perfect. The above are the top eight pities specially selected from this congress. You may find that some manufacturers chose to release their immature models due to their undesirable anxieties to achieve quick success. Although we know these actions are mainly caused by pressures from fierce competitions, but we have to say these will do no good to us at all. However, we do sense some trends from these models and technologies. Hopefully these manufactures will do a better job in the next Mobile World Congress.
