Cold Air Intake - A Cool Choice

When a car is in motion there is always a wind that can be felt if you open the window or if you have an open roof car. This wind can feel very chilly if it is the cold season and you will want to quickly roll up the window so that you don't start to get very cold. On the other hand if the weather is cool or even warm but not hot, you will enjoy the breeze and will want to leave the window open. As a passenger we sometimes like the breeze getting in from the outside and sometimes we don't.
Now imagine if there was a small window that would allow the cold air from the outside to get to your car engine's cylinder. The engine cylinder is where the combustion takes place and the fuel is exploded so of course it cannot have a window, but it can have an air intake that brings it cold air. So how would the engine react on receiving the cold air? Would it feel cold and lose heat and therefore its performance as you do on a cold day or would it be refreshed and invigorated and deliver a better performance as you would when the weather is pleasant?
Well the engine would not feel cold. A lot of heat is generated in the engine ...
... and it is nice to help it cool off. In fact it would feel invigorated if a cold air intake took cold air to it. This is because for a given volume more air can be contained in it if it is cold. That is because cold air is denser compared to hot air. More air contains more oxygen which leads to a better combustion.
Better combustion gives you more power since more fuel is burnt in the engine stroke. You also get better fuel efficiency since a lesser amount of fuel is left unburnt. The air intake also looks cool on your car giving it a performance car look. You can see cold air intakes are a cool product that give you great value.
