Net Curtains Offer Privacy From The Outside World
When decorating a house the look curtains in your windows can set the room off perfectly. When done correctly they can make a huge difference to the overall fell of the room. Obviously as well as looking nice and pretty they also have a purpose which is to provide privacy from the outside world.
If you live in the UK you may have seen the recent adverts in which a couple are planning to go out and are purposely leaving doors open, car keys out, laptop in full view etc in the hope they get burgled. Obviously they don't, the point the advert is trying to get is how to be more secure in your home to stop intruders. If you leave your laptop on show, car keys in display you are effectively inviting intruders.
Well net curtains are a great tool in hiding your home items from the outside world. Many modern homes now have blinds which can look nice but they don't offer the privacy and security of net curtains.
There are many different types of curtains available and each will create a different look and feel to a window. To help you choose the right curtains for your home I am going to talk about jardinières, ...
... cafe curtains and voile swags.
Voile swags are a type of curtain panel that is gently gathered and draped from a decorative pole or mounting. It just covers the top of a window and can be layered in front of another window treatment. Voile is a lightweight fabric which gives off a very gentle and romantic look.
Jardinières are the reverse of a swag as the curtain arches up in the middle rather than just dropping down. You still get plenty of privacy and the arch in the middle can make a framing effect for items on the window sill, like a bunch of flowers or your favourite ornaments. You can make the arch as subtle or noticeable as you like.
Cafe curtains are placed half way down your window which allows light to come through the top. They look great in kitchens or dining rooms where you want your privacy while eating. They come in many different fabrics and designs.
The above mentioned are only a few, but there are many more. So before you opt for blinds have a look at curtains. With online shopping you can now search online and buy made to measure curtains without even leaving your home. The material and designs have evolved over the years and well worth a look. So, whether you are choosing a single curtain to enhance the look of one window in a room, or maybe you're redoing your entire home, check out net curtains as an option.
