Bowel Incontinence And Kegel Exercise?

Are you suffering from bowel incontinence or lack of control over your bowel movement? You may experience this when there is frequent bowel movement occurring in your lower abdomen. You can gain control over this through Kegel exercise and diet.
How does Kegel exercise help?
There may be involuntary passage of stools or incontinence. To stop this, you must have greater control over rectum, anus, pelvic muscles, and nervous system. Kegel or pelvic exercise will help you strengthen your muscles and thus gain control over your stool. Women during child birth often injure their anal muscles this results in faecal incontinence. Floor exercise helps contract your muscles of the anus, pelvis and buttocks. You must try and hold the muscles as hard as possible for a slow count of five and then relax. Imagine that you are trying to stop the stools from passing. Follow this for half an hour, thrice daily. You will soon strengthen your pelvic and anal muscles and thus stop faecal incontinence.
These exercises often come handy to pregnant women who would like to have smooth delivery. Strengthen your pelvic muscles in ...

How does diet help?
Infants who switch over to formula feeds from breast feeding often suffer from loose stools. Before, moving on to these powdered milk consult you paediatrician. Your kid may not be in a position to digest formula feeds. You can add bulk to your diet, by eating fibre rich fruits and vegetables. Eat curds to add bulk and your stool will be normal and not loose. Eat whole wheat bread and red rice instead of white bread and white rice.
Some may suffer from diarrhea after eating dairy foods because they are unable to digest lactose, a sugar found in most dairy products. Some food additives such as nutmeg and sorbitol have also been shown to cause diarrhea in certain people.
Adding bulk to the diet may thicken the stool and decrease its amount. Certain foods thicken the stools, including rice, bananas, yogurt, and cheese. Increasing fiber (30 grams daily) from whole-wheat grains and bran adds bulk to the diet. Additionally, psyllium-containing products such as Metamucil can add bulk to the stools.
Many people resort to altering their social and physical activities, even their employment, to cope with the problem. In addition, some people with bowel incontinence do not see a doctor because they just don't realize that their problem can be treated. Do not do any such mistake, consult your doctor.
